Starting way back in 2013, the Rainhill Trials are large arena, functional fitness competitions open to athletes of all abilities and ages.

There are no qualifiers, but due to overwhelming demand for places, athletes and teams are asked to put themselves onto the ballot list, from which places are issued at random.

Athletes taking part in an individual competition will complete a series of seeding workouts which allows them to be placed into a category with athletes of a similar ability.

Wood & Rastrick categories compete on the Saturday, Kennedy & Rocket categories compete on the Sunday.
